Kadi Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty

We stand behind every Kadi product. Our Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty reflects our confidence in the quality and craftsmanship of our luggage — and our commitment to being transparent about exactly what that means for you.

What "Lifetime" Means

"Lifetime" refers to the expected functional lifetime of the product, not the lifetime of the purchaser. The expected lifetime will vary depending on frequency and conditions of use.

We define the expected functional lifetime of each component as follows, based on normal use (see definition below):

  • Hard Shell — 10 Years: Covers cracking, splitting, or structural failure not caused by impact, mishandling, or abnormal use.
  • Softshell Material (Polyester/PP) — 5 Years: Covers seam failure, strap detachment, and structural breakdown of the fabric under normal use. Does not cover tears or punctures caused by sharp objects, snagging, or misuse.
  • Wheels — 5 Years: Covers failure to roll, detachment, or structural breakdown under normal use.
  • Telescopic Handle & Trolley System — 5 Years: Covers failure to extend, retract, or lock under normal use.
  • Zippers — 5 Years: Covers splitting, jamming, or failure of the zipper mechanism under normal use.
  • Fabric (Kadi Bags) — 3 Years: Covers seam failure, strap detachment, or structural breakdown under normal use.

These timeframes are a guide to our voluntary warranty and do not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which may apply for a longer period depending on the nature of the product and the failure.

What "Normal Use" Means

Our warranty applies to products used in the way a reasonable traveller would use them. This includes:

  • Using the luggage for its intended purpose — carrying personal belongings during travel
  • Not exceeding the maximum recommended load capacity for your product (refer to your product's label or the product page on kadiluggage.com for the specific weight limit for your model)
  • Storing luggage appropriately when not in use — away from extreme heat, moisture, or conditions that could cause material degradation
  • Not dragging luggage across surfaces for which it was not designed (e.g., unpaved terrain, gravel, steps) in a way that would cause foreseeable damage

Use that goes beyond this — including overloading, misuse, or use in conditions not reasonably intended — may affect your warranty claim, though your rights under the Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected where a product fails to meet the guarantee of acceptable quality.

What "Manufacturer's Warranty" Means

A manufacturer's warranty specifically covers defects in materials and workmanship — faults that exist because of how the product was made, not how it was used over time.

This warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects present at the time of purchase
  • Premature failure of components within the expected lifetimes above, where that failure is not caused by misuse, accident, or normal wear and tear

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including scratches, scuffs, minor dents, and fading that occur through regular use
  • Damage caused solely by airlines or baggage handlers where no manufacturing defect is present (see below)
  • Damage caused by misuse, overloading, or use inconsistent with the product's intended purpose
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect the function of the product

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for consequential or indirect losses. Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including rights to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss.

Airline Damage — An Important Note

This warranty does not cover damage caused solely by airlines or baggage handlers where no manufacturing defect is present. If your luggage is damaged during a flight, please report it to the airline before leaving the airport — airlines are required to manage these claims under the Montreal Convention. Our Customer Care Team is happy to help you understand your options if you are unsure how to proceed.

How to Make a Claim

No registration required.

Where proof of purchase is unavailable, we may accept other reasonable evidence of purchase at our discretion — such as a bank or credit card statement showing the transaction.

Purchased through Myer: Return the product to any Myer store with proof of purchase. Myer's team will assess your item and assist with a replacement or refund under this warranty.

Purchased through kadiluggage.com: Contact our Customer Care Team via the Contact Us form or at hello@kadiluggage.com.

Assessment: Claims will be assessed by our team acting reasonably, based on the information provided and, where necessary, inspection of the product. If you disagree with our assessment, you may seek an independent review through your state consumer protection agency or the relevant consumer tribunal.

Where a valid claim is accepted, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace the product, or provide a refund where required under the Australian Consumer Law.

If Your Product Is Discontinued

If your product or colourway is no longer available, we will offer a replacement of equivalent value and specification, or a store credit or refund at your election.

Warranty Transferability

This voluntary manufacturer's warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable to subsequent owners. This does not affect any rights a subsequent owner may have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the right to pursue the manufacturer directly under s.271 of the ACL where applicable.

Geographic Scope

This warranty applies to products purchased in Australia and is governed by Australian law.

Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law

Our Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

For more information about your rights, visit accc.gov.au or call the ACCC on 1300 302 502.

Company Continuity

Kadi stands behind this warranty for as long as we operate. In the unlikely event of any material change to our business, we are committed to communicating clearly with existing warranty holders about what that means for them.
